October 23rd Park District Halloween Jamboree Fundraiser
The Chicago Park District and Chase Park Advisory Council asked FRIENDS OF FILBERT PLAYLOT PARK to run the concession stand at their annual "Halloween Jamboree" on October 23rd. This fun event for kids featured a costume parade, pumpkin decorating, arts & crafts, storytelling, photo stations and much more.
The event was moved inside due to rain, so the turnout wasn't as large as expected. Even so, FRIENDS OF FILBERT PLAYLOT PARK raised approximately $200 for our playground renovation, and we established some great connections with the Chase Park Advisory Council. They were extremely happy with how we handled the concessions - especially considering that we had less than a week's notice! They've invited us to run concession stands for them at future events as well.
We would like to thank Sensational Bites for donating cookies for our concession stand, and all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make and sell hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate and many other yummy treats!
