July 10th Community Meeting
The FRIENDS OF FILBERT PLAYLOT PARK Advisory Council held a community-wide meeting at the playground on Saturday, July 10th at 10:00am. The meeting was a hit! Approximately 30 residents and businesses owners attended, along with a number of neighborhood children. We also had a local Police Officer and our Park District Supervisor, Katie Fearon-Peon, participate! A huge “thanks” to all who joined us…
The Advisory Council explained the reasons why the playground should be renovated, and we discussed the steps we’ve taken so far to make this a reality. Our goal is to have the park completely renovated by summer 2011. Attendees agreed that the park is in terrible shape, and many people offered to help in one way or another. We look forward to working with all of you to make this a reality.
For those of you who couldn’t attend the meeting, thanks for checking out our website! We still need your help – whether it be a donation, adding your name/address to our list of supporters, assisting with fundraising, or all of the above. Feel free to contact us with questions or suggestions, and please check out our “Upcoming Events” link for more ways you can help. The more people who get involved, the better the likelihood that we can renovate the playground!
